You're
awesome.
Pass it on.
Volunteer with us and share what makes you amazing.

You said you wanted more awareness of Girlguiding and more resources to support recruiting volunteers and young members locally. This month we launch the Anglia pass it on the campaign. We’ve continued to work with volunteers and listen to the needs of grassroots leaders as we launch the first phase of this project to the public on 8 May.

If you weren’t able to join the all Anglia members call on 25 April there is another on 3 May at 7:30pm. The design agency Creativity Unbound, who have developed the campaign under the direction of volunteers, staff and trustees will be there to show members what it should look like. We’d love to hear your thoughts and questions as this is just phase 1 of developing our support to local leaders and commissioners and to raise awareness of our brilliant and impactful organisation.

The big theme for May is the coronation and we’ve loved seeing and hearing what leaders are planning in their units. From picnics at the park to Kings of England-themed games please keep sharing great ideas.

The 8 May is The Big Help Out and when the region recruitment campaign launches phase 1. If you’re looking to recruit adult volunteers then some resources are on there way to you in the post.

In the meantime check out the resources in the member support area of the Anglia website for recruiting and welcoming volunteers. More new branded resources will be added over the next few months so keep checking back and if there’s something you would like to see please just let us know.

A great activity to get your unit involved in is the tried and tested bringing you to us pack. Designed with activities for any age group and supporting ideas for bringing more adults into your unit.

From Ellen Tack, Anglia inspire coordinator:

“Thank you to all of you who filled in the Anglia Inspire survey at the end of 2022.

The results were really interesting and over the next year we will be working towards implementing some of the requests including member’s wear, a region badge and events specifically to bring together members of our 18-30 age group.

Today we are launching an exciting design competition to find our new region Inspire logo. I am very excited to find out what is designed and launch the new merchandise later in the year.”

Here are the terms and conditions for the competition:

  • You can create anything which you feel captures Girlguiding Inspire, this can be colours or icons and can be drawn, painted, or digitally created. This is where you can let your creativity shine!
  • Please note that you can use up to 8 different colours on your design
  • The winning entry will be firstly made into a badge to be sold in the region shop for the Inspire community
  • The badge design will eventually be placed onto clothing item(s) which will be sold via the region shop
  • Please note, the winning design may need to be adapted slightly to ensure that it meets the Girlguiding branding standards
  • Please don’t include the Girlguiding trefoil in your design as we will add this for you
  • The competition winner will be announced on social media once the Inspire volunteer project leads choose their winner
  • All competition entries must be submitted by 1 July
  • You can submit entries via post or email
