My guiding life started one Sunday evening when my Nan and Mum spent the entire evening persuading me to join Guides. I agreed and my Mum took me along to 1st Burnham Brownies the following evening. I have been involved ever since, recently receiving my twenty-year service award.

I have run Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units. Currently, I run a Guide unit and a very small Ranger unit. I love running my unit and have made good friends, all thanks to Guiding. Over the years, I have been a County Commissioner, District Commissioner and a Division Commissioner and organised two County Brownie Camps.

Volunteering with us isn’t just about campfires and helping girls to get their next badge – although those are special moments. It’s about empowering girls and giving them new experiences. It’s helping girls realise their own potential, sharing and developing your skills, all while having the time of your life.
